Welcome to Clayton High School's Class of 1975 website! We are planning a weekend of celebration June 27-29, 2025 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of our graduation from CHS.

1908
CHS established. First classes held at Forsyth Elementary School (built 1893).
1918
CHS closes for nine weeks due to Spanish flu pandemic.
1953
A block of ice was used to set the 10-ton, 6-foot diameter granite globe.
1911
First class of CHS seniors graduate - five girls and four boys.
1921
CHS crowns its first Claymo Queen (original spelling).
1954
Clayton High School building opens at 1 Mark Twain Circle.
1917
First CHS building opens at 7500 Maryland with over 100 students.*
1952
CHS building sold to Famous-Barr to make way for the west parking lot.
1975
The 64th senior class graduates, with approximately 107 girls and 106 boys.
*The arrangement of the auditorium and stage-gymnasium was so unique for a smaller high school building, that it was featured in the American School Board Journal in October 1919. Click here to see the article (and transcription, since it can be difficult to read).
